This is a B-1a
prototype used in the B-1b program, it is the number 4 aircraft
used as a ground loading trainer at Lowery before Lowery closed

sticking out from the fuselage tail area are vortex generators...They
guide the air around that lower portion of the vertical stab in order to
smooth air flow around it. …these were painted the same
colour of plane |

a plane next to the B-1 fired up it engines and due to boredom I turned
for one sec to look at that plane and as I glanced back I noticed
this guy had moved to grab his ear protectors and I missed the clear
shot!!! AAARRRRGGGHHH…finally I gave up and took the picture. |
