The “Beetle Bomb” was used by the Blue Angels as a target aircraft  which was supposed to be the enemy in their early airshows.  After a simulated dogfight, the Bearcat would zig-zag its way across the sky, a modified belly tank would open and a dummy pilot would “parachute” to the ground.

A fully detailed Cutting Edge Cockpit was installed as well as the Cutting Edge wingfold.  The prop came from an old Monogram Skyraider I had laying around and the decals came from the old Testors Bearcat.

The BEETLE BOMB was painted with several wet coats of Testors ModelMaster FS13538, Chrome Yellow with a few drops of International Orange added to the mix.  It was then weathered with a wash of alcohol (hiccup) and ink, and pastels to simulate the oil streaks common to radial engines.

Thank You and I hope you enjoy the BEETLE BOMB as much as I did !!!
