The model was done in the "Silly Way" of the silly old days way back when.  I had the urge to Scribe some panel lines when we first got the Baremetal Scriber into our shop (that is how old this model is).   I prescribed most of the panel lines with the aid of a piece of old photo (I will use some Templates next time).  Most of the panel lines were done that way and I'm sure I could have done better.

I used the D&S F-100 book as a reference to detail the cockpit, The kit cockpit is almost bang on except for a few handles and the canopy release (which had to be scratch built).  I 'created' the seat belts by peeling/shaving off plastic strips from the rectangular plastic part of the "trees" that say "Hasegawa". Do you know what I mean?

The painting was straight forward with different shades of Modelmaster Metallisers and masking using not too sticky Scotch tapes. (same way as my F-104 on ARC).

I decided to cut the flaps the hard way, a single edge razor blade, I've been using them for years, and everyone has told me I was cheap and even then they did not believe me. Cutting these was not easy as the plastic was pretty hard.

The tail section was painted with a mix of Metallisers and Pollyscale Burnt metal as well as Testor enamel rust and flat brown.  The water and oil mix actually give the unbend tone that I think is good for the realistic look.  The decals were old Superscale which unfortunately silvered a bit and I cannot do anything about them!
