This is the best kit of the Hound available on the market.  The fit of the parts is very good and the kit can be build easily into a good replica of the real helicopter.

The cockpit was detailed using photo-references and some external detail was added using brass wire.

The main gear struts were shortened, to give the helo the correct appearance on the ground.

I added some extra wiring and detail to the main rotor head as well as to the the tail rotor  assembly.

For the painting scheme I used XTRACOLOR-paints X261 green and a X218 (90%)+ X218 (10%) mix for the light blue undersides.

White “746”, c/n 07127 was a Mi-4 Hound first used by the Helicopter Transport Wing HG-31 and afterwards , with the big white/black “ship-style numbers applied, by the East German Navy Helicopter Wing in Parow, till 1977.

I used the markings and stencil data from the HI-DECAL sheet 72-026, containing markings for this and several other Mi-4 from various air forces.
