1/48 Monogram Pro-Modeller PB5YA

The Canso represents David Hornell's aircraft prior to his last flight.  It is of course Monogram's Pro-Modeller PB5YA with True Details cockpit and photo-etch added.  The model was painted with Polly Scale..no Future..!  Of interest a very good friend in Saskatoon, Ray Crone, was a member of 162 Sqn RCAF stationed in Iceland.

This model was dedicated to Mrs Patricia Huff of Delta, BC, now aged 85, who helped build the 1/1 Canso at Boeing's Vancouver plant at False Creek. It was a thrill to me to have these two people as friends and to have them a part of a famous aircraft.

By the way, the added radar antennae on the fuselage were scratch built. The bow anchor line was sanded off and replaced with very fine copper lamp cord wire.
