History of the F-16   J-248

Two Crew-chiefs of 323 Sqn at Leeuwarden AFB, Ted & Tweety, started painting J-248 in September 1998, but due to the Kosovo War, they had to wait until January of 1999 to finish this scheme, showing Diana “Goddess of the Hunt” which is the Sqn emblem of 323 Sqn.

The Kit:

I think that all parts are really superdetailed. The fit of this kit is very good. I have made this kit straight from the box. The only thing I added were some new static dischargers, because some of them were broken in the box and a new anti collision strobe on top of the tail was added.

Decals:

I used the Astra Decals from Daco Products.  My compliments, these decals are very good and with a little help from the set and sol, they fit perfect.

I didn't use the walkway decals, but I airbrushed these after a long masking job.

The instruction sheet says that it will be necessary to cut the decal where the level difference of the parachute housing is.  I did not follow that instruction, because I thought the final look would be too thick.  I use some extra Sol from Microscale to fit it in the right way.  So, I did not use that little extra little decal with Diana's big .... (you know)....

The plane above...J-248 is a MLU (MidLifeUpdate) version.

I took a photo below at the airshow in the Netherlands of the sensing pitot on the Aces II, I scanned it for anybody who needs a picture like this.
