This is the 1/48 F8F-2 by Testors.  I built this model mostly out of box, except I used True detail wheels and Super Scale decal sheet number 48-431.  I built up the aircraft per the instructions and the model went together fairly easily, the fit was well and the use of filler was not needed.  I then primed and painted the aircraft Dark Sea Blue and then clear coated and applied the decals.  After these set for a few days I clear coated again with a Gloss clear to give the aircraft fairly new look so weathering was kept to a minimum.

This aircraft number 121553 was assigned to VMFT-10 and was based at Marine Corps Air Station Quantico, Virginia in the summer of 1951.
