1/48 Hasegawa F-14A Tomcat |

This is the venerable Hasegawa 1/48 Tomcat built to represent Black Knight 101 of VF-154 Black Knights. I used the "Black Knights History" boxing of the kit as the basis and used Steel Beach's Bombcat update set for the square PTID, LANTIRN controller and BRU-32/A bombracks. I painted the model exclusively with Gunze Arcylic paints. The colours used were 307 (FS36270) and 308 (FS36375) for the main camouflage and a custom mix of 301 (FS36081) and black for the skunk stripe and vertical stabalisers. Decals came from the kit and I also added some of Fightertown Decals' Tomcat stencils to enhance it. Weathering was done using Tamiya Enamels.
As the kit did not come with any
weapons, I had to look for weapons elsewhere. The AIM-9M Sidewinders and their
decals came from the Kinetic Viper kit. The AIM-54C Phoenix came from an
Academy Tomcat. Its decals were from the Fightertown Decals sheet. The
AN/AAQ-14 LANTIRN Targeting Pod and GBU-16 Paveway IIs and their decals came
from the Hasegawa Weapons Set D.
