1/48 Italeri Bell UH-1H Huey from the Chilean Air Force, FACh

Hello ARC friends. Here's my contribution to commemorate the Chilean's National Day with one of our most venerable classic-veteran chopper ;)

This particular one is based at Puerto Montt airport belonging to the "Grupo de Aviación Nº5" (Air Group Nº5) and serving in many duties like transport, recco and rescue missions.

This kit has very good engraving details and I spent some time building up. The windshield didn't fix very well so I had to apply a good amount of Cristal Clear to filled up the gaps. I improved some interior details making the seatbelts, fire extinguisher and medical kits. Also I did some other things like the cargo lifter, the GPS antenna in the middle of the roof and a radio antenna on the left side of the top.

I painted it using Model Master enamels and for the decals I made my own ones using the Testor's decal set.

For the weathering process I applied pastels, oil washes and finally a matt varnish cover to seal the job.
