This is my conversion of a Mirage 3 with a resin set for an aircraft in the South-African military. The plane here is a decoration for the 75 years of the SAAF, the aircraft with painting cheetah named spotty. Click on images below to see larger images The
first thing, to be done on my plane was I bought the Heller Mirage3 b-c kit
and the spinners conversion
set on ebay for my Cheetah C spotty The
box set spinners cheetah contains photo-etched, resin parts, decals SAAF two
parts clear. The
resins parts are well moulded. I cut the the fillet on tail fin, I removed the exhaust on last panel line and replacing with a new. Definitely
follow instructions of spinners for a good conversion of Mirage 3. For the painting I used the Humbrol 127 , 128 and white gloss Tamiya, for the rear drift it’s of Revell light blue number 58. The
patch 75 years to rear drift is painting For
the head of the Cheetah on two sides of cockpit, I search how to make it and I finally bought four markers with painting (posca uni), red , white , black ,
brown ....... and here is the result (
my friendly modellers do not come back !) I
used
the posca markers for a good job, there was no reaction with the enamel paints and
no other problems. How
I built the natural African diorama ( savane , savannah) Because my wild animal have the right to be in his natural environment and it is better for him that classical grey tarmac.
I
look my aircraft during of hours My
next aircraft to built is the plane Mirage 3 to the ace Israeli giora epstein A+ ALWAYS-IN-ASCENT James Petit Click on images below to see larger images
