My 'Out of the Box'
ProModeler Messerschmitt Me-410. I used the kit markings for Maj. Eduard Tratt,
C.O. of ZG.26 Konigsberg Germany in Jan. 1944. I know the supercharger intakes
should be round, not oval, but I wasn't in the mood for surgery. The kit is
very nicely engineered, and goes together nicely with the exception of the
canopy, which fits terribly, and requires filling of some seams with white
glue, & paint.

Maj. Tratt was the
Luftwaffe's highest scoring 'Zestroyer' (Heavy Fighter) Ace, with 38 kills to
his credit, at the time of his death (along with his gunner) on Feb. 20, 1944.
Reports conflict,
many conclude they were killed in a single plane attack on a B-17. Most believe
they were attacked and killed by P-47s of the 78th FG, which were operating in
the area, and claimed several twin engine fighter kills.
I used Testors Model
Master enamels, & Bobe EZ-Line for the antennas. Weathering was a
combination of graphite, Marmo's Magic Dust, Pro Modeler Wash (black, and
brown), and Tamiya Smoke.
