1/72 Academy RAF Mustang III

Hello, everyone!

It’s the first time I ever made a model after my kid was born!

P-51 Mustang is an elegant WWII fighter.  But I don’t like the 4 blade propellers on it.  But when I went through my penthouse the first mustang I can find is a –B from ACADEMY
So…I got an idea that many mustangs serving the RAF may have something Made In England like the most noticed “malcom hood” and may be some got a spitfire’s prop!

With this idea I took a 3 blade prop from a ? plane (from my terrifying scrap yard ) AND scratch built a hub from a much larger hood comes from a Short Sunderland (and this not from the yard because the real Sunderland, and my finished model never use this!).

Building is easy with the well engineered parts beside the four piece fuselage made for both –B/-C/-D versions.

Everything else is fun if only I can make something again after these years!

Last, let me introduce my only work of these 3 years, the so called “mini me” Kang Chen
