Malaysia National Day

This is an ex-Matchbox kit in a Revell box. It has been a rather simple and straightforward build.  As with many Matchbox kits, the 1/72 Beau has a fairly simple breakdown, a minimal amount of deeply recessed panel lines, no cockpit details and a small parts count - but - they're honestly fun to build and offers a good base for detailing.

The model will be finished as a No 45 Sqn bird that flew out of (the then) RAF Sg Besi Malaysia during Operation “Firedog”, The only things I added were Tamiya tape seat belts, a spare control column and drilled out gun troughs. Oh, yeah... I also thinned down the cowl flaps.

Happy Merdeka Day 2011
