This is my first attempt at Tamiya’s amazing F-16 kits.  The C model fell into place with little effort, and was a pleasure to work.  I was amazed at the part fits, and how smooth everything fit into place.  I built the kit basically out of the box, minus the Quickboost F-16 seat, and replacement AOA and pitot tubes.  Also replaced the airbrakes with Eduards detail airbrakes, which could be posed open.  These added an awesome touch to an already great plane.  I used Model Master paints, minus clear blue and green from Tamiya for clear parts painting.  The wash was done in Windsor Newton water based  Burnt Umber and Black.

The build was straight forward, and essentially went in order.  I used pastel chalks to provide some of the weathering, engine exhaust streaks, and gun soot.  These all went on very well, and provided an awesome effect.  I hand painted the pilot using dark green / Olive drab / and tan.

I highly recommend this kit for enthusiasts of the F-16, fighters…or just an enjoyable kit to put together without any headaches.
