Brewster Buffalo was RAF principle fighter in Far East at the start of WW2, it was based in various RAF basses in Malaya and Singapore during the war . This is ancient Airfix Buffalo Mk 1 kit build with kit decal for RAAF 453 Squadron TD- V piloted by Flt Lt RD Vanderfield, Following the Japanese invasion of Peninsular Malaysia on 8 December 1941, 453 Squadron was deployed to airfields at Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur. The squadron tasked to support the ground troops by providing air cover and attacking Japanese troops and transport, but suffered high losses in doing so.

The kit was rescribed, and various detail were added to the otherwise plain kit cockpit. This Buffalo was painted with colors from Gunze RAF color sets..
