  Malaysia National Day

The Hawk 108 was purchased by the Malaysian government in the nineties. It was the first fully digitalized cockpit strike aircraft of the RMAF. They were in overall medium sea grey and acted as the lead in trainer to the F-18D aircraft.

The kit is from the latest Kinetic offering of the Hawk 100. I modified and scratch built the rear housing and the wing fences to make it a 108. The kit is a great kit with great fitting parts and great parts break down. My mate Thomas Ng assisted me with some shots on the actual craft to ensure that I was on the right path.....overall the decals were from F-4Dable models and a unknown maker of the 1/32 international Hawk sheet. Some were also from the spares box.

A pleasing and relaxing build and done up relatively fast. The model is no longer with me as it has been sold to a collector who was very happy to add a big Hawk into his collection.

I might build 1 or 2 more of these kits in the Indonesian and maybe another Malaysian bird.

Happy Merdeka to all
