  Malaysia National Day

In the 50’s 2 RAAF Avon Sabre squadrons namely No. 3 and 77 squadron were base at Butterworth Malaysia, During Malayan Emergency, the Sabres flew ground attack missions against Communist bandits, No 77 Squadron remained at Butterworth during the 60’s and served in the air defence role.

I wanted a quick build, and went for the supposedly easy build kit from Hobbyboss, the fit is not so great, and putty and sanding is required, this is also a very heavy tail sitting kit, so lots of nose weight is required. This is not an accurate build for Avon Sabre as I did not modify the intake and fuselage that is required for Avon Sabre, but I did modify the cannon pods.

Making was from Tasman Avon Sabre conversion kit, I will build an accurate Avon Sabre with the Tasman conversion later…the tow truck was from Acadamy kit.

Enjoy and Happy Merdaka..
