I completed this build earlier this year and it was a rather simple and mostly trouble free project. I used Aero Master’s decal sheet 32-006, and the aircraft markings and camo scheme were used by Pilot, Semen Alexeivich Fedorets. During my research of this pilot, I learned that he was one of the prolific Russian MiG-15 fighter pilots during the Korean conflict. “The impressive war career of this Russian Asov included 98 missions, 8 aerial victories (all F-86E/Fs), being downed once, and being awarded with Lenin's Order, the second highest Soviet military decoration.” On April 12, 1953, Fedoret’s shot down American ace, CPT Joseph McConnell, but McConnell managed to shoot down Fedoret’s aircraft after performing a barrel-roll maneuver after taking hits to his Sabre just moments before from Fedoret’s. Both pilots managed to bail out from their mortally wounded aircraft, survived this amazing battle, and lived through the conflict to tell their tale.

The only complaint that I have about this kit is the cockpit as it was a rather simple one. I used Model Master’s paint to paint the aircraft and I was rather pleased with the results. I chose to use the smaller fuel tanks provided with the kit as they looked more realistic to me for this build.

Enjoy the photos.
