JAS-39C Gripen 701 Sqn., Wing 7, Royal Thai Airforce

The JAS-39 C/D entered service in Royal Thai Airforce in 2011. All Gripens are station in 701 Squadron, Wing 7, Surat Thani. These are first 4th generation multi-role fighters that have ever been in service in RTAF.

My model is Tamiya (Italeri re-box) Gripen in 72nd scale. Most of details and panel lines are inaccurate, soft and wide. So, I had to rescribe the entire panel lines. I also use aftermarket detail items for make it complete.

Here are the list of my add-on parts:

  • Master Model pitot and AOA probe

  • Pavla cockpit set

  • Eduard PE

  • Aires close exhaust pipe

Some scratch-building needed here and there to convert the kit A type to be C type.

I armed my Gripen with 2x AIM-120C and 2x IRIS-T. Belly tank and boarding ladder were from Maestro Models. Decals were from VEHA decal, a local brand.
