This is
my 5th big banana. But the first time I am doing a CH-46D. The other 4 were of
course CH-113 Labradors / Voyagers. This time the model is out of the box with
the exception of Eduard photo Etch. You know I love that Eduard stuff, but this
kit really does not NEED it. You can not see any of the photo etch once the kit
is completely built. Only trouble I had with this build was the paint. After
removing the tape the grey peeled badly. Turns out the touch ups (slightly
darker then the base paint) added to the weathering effect.

I have
one more of these helos in the stash, but that last one will not bother with the
photo etch. The difference in this build of course is it,s not Canadian for a
change. I built the oddly colourful US Navy rescue version. Who would have
thought dark grey could be part of a "Colourful" scheme?
