I picked up this kit at a hobby shop in Tokyo's Akihabara district many years back and finally decided to build it. AZ Model does limit run kits on some iconic airplanes. Though the airplanes they box are awesome, the kits require a lot of work as one would expect from limited run kits. This kit is no exception. Without getting into painful detail, this kit requires a lot of patience, sanding, drilling, putty and cussing. The end result however is gratifying. This build is mainly straight out of box except for the following exception - Italeri Spitfire Canopy was used for the open cockpit and I used a strand of my hair for the antenna wire. I used Mr. Hobby paints and for the upper camo, Tamiya Med Sea Gray for the underside and Testors clear and flat clear for sealing. I used Tamiya black wash before sealing.

The plane depicts the Spitfire flown by the WWII ace Wing Commander Frank "Chota" Carey based at AFTU Amarda Road, Odisha, India 1944.

Hope you like the build. Feel free to drop a note if you have any questions/comments. Thx!
