Build No.7 for the year!  The kit is Academy's 1/72 P-51B Mustang.  The kit is pretty straightforward, it's easy to assemble. Though I recommend doing the ff:

Glue the parts of the tail section to the respective halves of the fuselage.  Put a shim inside it to aid in alignment, also to add strength to the join.  Trim the cockpit down to ensure everything closes nicely.
Ditch the decals, go for AM ones, as with any Academy kit.

Painting was done using Mr. Color, and Tamiya paints applied over a black base. Weathering was pretty straightforward, as I did some post shading, used some oils, soft pastels, and colored pencils.
Decals were by Lifelike decals, the Cartograf printed decals settled down nicely into the panels, but the Microscale printed ones (the roundels) took a bit of softener to get them to set. I accidentally melted part of them during the process, but it was fixed easily by just repainting the affected areas with Vallejo model color which I mixed. For the markings, I opted for a CBI one (I've always wanted to do one of them) as they're a big break from ETO Mustangs, and the markings are always very colorful. With that said, critique away!
