Singapore Flying College Beechcraft Bonanza F33

My first completed kit of 2021 is a Minicraft Beechcraft Bonanza in Singapore Flying College (SFC) livery circa 1996. This trainer single engine piston plane was based in Jandakot, Perth, Western Australia (hence, it carries the Australian civil registration: VH-SIB) where many SFC Cessna, Beechcraft trainers are based, even till today.

Minicraft did a good job manufacturing this 1/48 kit with the option of displaying the 285 hp Continental IO-520-B engine detail. However, the kit is not the usual perfect fitting "Tamigawa" type kits; I had to perform lots of puttying and sanding especially on the fuselage and wing fittings to obtain a seamless fitting look and feel.

Decals were all custom produced with inkjet decal paper and lots of time was spent on masking and fine airbrushing the dark blue and gold trimmings as well as the clear yellow anti icing panels on the fuselage and wing tips.
