This is my Italeri 1/72 A-4F Skyhawk. This particular aircraft (NP304) was flown by Lt. Rocco Walkers during the USS Hancock (CVA-19) WestPac/Vietnam 1969 cruise. This aircraft was assigned to VA-212 “Rampant Raiders” and they flew 7 Vietnam cruises from 1965 to 1972 flying “E” and “F” models.

I had a great assistance from my friend Rick Fiore, who flew his beloved NP314 alongside Lt. Rocco Walkers on 69-70 cruise and helped me with lots of pictures and details about the Skyhawk and the missions flown by VA-212 during the conflict.

The model was completed almost OOB except from tape seat belts, brass wire ejection straps and the wing mounted fuel tanks that I took from a Hasegawa Skyraider kit. I choose this configuration because NP304 was exactly like this on the only wartime picture I’ve got from it, again thanks to Rick.

The kit was finished using Tamiya paints and weathered (heavely I guess!) with pastel chalks.

Hope you all enjoy my work, and I would like to thanks Rick Fiore for all your help!!

Rick, finally it’s done!!
