The older AMT/Ertl kit of the A-7E in 1/72 scale offers you to build an aircraft wearing the Desert Storm camouflage scheme. The decals you need for this particular paint scheme are included.

I decided to go for the Desert Storm look and started putting the kit together. My model has been built straight out of the box without any fitting problems. Despite its age the parts are very detailed and everything fits very well into each other. But –as always- there are certain things that could need improvement. The closed air intake for example.

For the first time I used Acrylic paints from JPS. They match the original perfectly. I didn’t use any masking tape to apply the paint scheme.

Working with the decals was a bit tricky due to their size but didn’t pose a problem. After weathering the model I applied Humbrol paints to seal it.

The A-7 in Desert Storm paint scheme is a real treat for the eyes and definitely a great addition for any collection.
