In memoriam to the brave Peruvian soldiers and airmen who fought and died  during Cenepa conflict in February 1995.

  This kit needed a lot of putty and sandpapering, the weaponry is really bad, but the shape is very good.

Modifications:

  • Construction of emergency door exit at first window in the right side.
  • Addition of flare dispensers in the tail(from 1/72 Testors Mi-24D Hind ).
  • Addition of the windshield wipers.
  • Addition of indicating lights of clear plastic.

 Painting:

This version depicts pre-Cenepa conflict colors, consisting in model master enamels:

Upperside:Dark sea blue (FS 15042) with a little bit of Flat white.

Underside: Duck egg blue (FS 35622)

Principal and tail rotor blades:Olive Drab (FS 34086)

Decals:

"EJERCITO DEL PERU" lettering and numeral belongs to a local hobby store,made in Peru.

Swords in Peruvian army emblems originally belongs to Tornado plane and were borrowed from my Spanish colleagues Antonio Herrera and Juan F. Vicente, thanks both of you friends.

To this helicopter I saw flying over Huanchaco beach (Trujillo,Peru) in February 1995, course to the north in the heat of conflict with Ecuador.

Actually Mi-17’s have a new camuflage scheme and they are based at Jorge Chavez international airport in Lima.(3th Aerial Group) with Mi-8’s and Mi-26’s.
