Construction
of this model was very straightforward. The
Australian version of the Bristol Beaufighter Hasegawa kit remained on shop
shelves for a relatively short time because it had been released as a special
series model. The
Hasegawa Beaufighter series is very beautifully tooled with nice recessed panel
lines and the traditionally sharp parts. Construction
Construction
started, as usual, with cockpit. As I love tiny cockpit I replaced kit parts
with a far nicer and more detailed Aires cockpit. Its little a gem. Navigator
position was also detailed from scratch as were engines. I added bearers and
exhaust stacks that link cylinders and front ring. From that point construction proceeded very quickly. Few filling or filing was necessary. A little of putty was necessary on the lower side of the rear of wing to fuselage mating.
Painting
and decaling
My
RAAF Beaufighter was to be built in the overall Foliage green scheme. Concern
was what color should I use, preferably from the Gunze range. Eric
