I started to build this model for the....

My F/A-18A is representing one of the NSAWC aircraft. Number 51 (BuN. 162887). It was transfered to NSWAC from VFA-195 (USS Midway).  It crashed near Edwards Creek Valley (NV) on 15/03/2002, and was written off.  I have used TwoBobs decals to make this aircraft. The instruction sheet has small mistakes. You need to confront it with the last picture on the bottom.  It is the only picture I have manage to find in internet. I have tried to make my model look like the aircraft on that picture.

I have used Eduard's PE parts. Mainly for the cockpit.  I painted my aircraft with Lifecolor  (FS30117/30279) and Pactra (FS36320).  When DecalFix has dried, I have sprayed my model with Gunze TopCoat.  I haven't weathered it because it looks clean (in the last picture).

This F/A-18 has three differences from "normal" F/A-18's.
It has very small a
ntenna on first, starboard nose gear doors; on the same door is "attached" the service card;  the antenna to the aft of the middle (starboard) nose gear door is bend to the rear like in (F/A-18E/F).

I had some problems with fitting the fuselage and glueing it correctly. It is very accurate model but hard to build.
