The Harrier was
first the vertical take off and landing aircraft to take to the skies
successfully. This remarkable design by Hawker engineers still flies today with
the U.S. Marines and the armed forces of many countries. This little airplane is
powered by a Rolls-Royce Hercules, that gives over 30,000 pounds of thrust.

Upgraded to the AV-8B in the
1980’s by McDonnell Douglas this versatile aircraft still remains today as a
front line strike aircraft. The Harrier proved itself in 1982 during the
Falklands war. The role played by this nimble aircraft was also vital during
Desert Storm.
I
found this kit in a garage sale and built it as fast as I could. I could hardly
believe my luck in finding such good kit. The cockpit area needs a lot of work,
as it is pretty Spartan. The kit has very finely engraved panel lines; adequate
armament, a beautifully detailed landing gear and the decals are good. I was
pleasantly surprised by the amount of stenciling provided. I can safely say this
kit compares in quality to any Tamiya or Hasegawa product. I enjoyed building
this little jet during my Winter Break. Happy modeling once again.
