This kit I built as "side-project" together with Revell P-51C – just for better utilization of paints loaded to my airbrush. It was completed OOB, only seatbelts added and guns and pitot tube replaced with injection needles. It was and old kit (I remember building one at least 20 years ago) so the fit was rather poor, but it captured well shapes of real Mig15. Fortunately it was a new issue of the kit with new decals – same markings as in the past, but now beautifully printed by Propagteam. Only
big problem was attaching canopy – the top of fuselage was somehow distorted
and cockpit opening was too large, so I decided cut canopy in 2 parts and place
it open. For painting I used Humbrol metalcote and Revell red enamel (applied
with airbrush) and Agama alcohol based colors for details. All
model was then brush coated with future and future was also used for setting
decals. Panel lines were emphasized with future tinted black and as final coat
was used Humbrol satin varnish. Pictures
were taken with Canon Powershot A60 digital camera. Happy
modelling Radim
