This is the Hasegawa F/A-18C. I used the Verlinden SJU-5/A Ejection seat, Model Technologies Canopy detail set, Made the HUD glass from clear plastic sheet. Scratchbuilt all the probes and antennae. The ladder and it's bracing is scratchbuilt (I am proud of the ladder!). The Dorsal fins and Vertical tail bracing were also mine.

I painted it with Model Master paints, and clearcoated with Gunze flat clear when done. I used a mixture of Superscale decals (72-593) and the kit decals. I fell in love with the CAG scheme as soon as I saw it, and revised my goal of the all grey scheme to include this Black tailed bird. Weathering was simple with some thinned paint and some pastels before the clearcoat.

I started this kit in 1995, and went hard at it, until I got sick of it 4/5ths of the way through decalling. I picked it up again in 2000 for a contest and finished it in
about a week. Was easier than I thought!
