There is an easier way to do this. The fuselage went thru very good, little puttying was needed, but there was a lot of sanding. The cockpit detail was quite good, I only added some sticks and the belts which I made from masking tape and thin wire. (pic1 and pic2) The plane needed a lot of weight to stay steel on tree wheels; I used metal inside the front wheel well and behind the instrument panel. Before painting I applied bare metal foil in some areas (see pic3, pic4 and pic5) to make metal scratches under the fuselage after painting (see pic6); you need to be very careful when masking if you use this technique, otherwise you will end up with all the paint in the masking and not the metal foil. (see pic7) The plane was painted with
model master paints; sealer for metalizer was used for decals, and charcoal for
weathering, after all this I applied a finish coat of matt varnish.
I used dry brown paint to simulate mud in the wheels. I added a couple of antennas
with invisible thread and some patience. I used the kit decals which needed a lot of solvent; I even used thinner on a couple of
them, but I think the work came out quite good. If you want to see more of my
work, visit the gallery at
