Again
I want to show you one of my helicopter models and again it is a United Nations
Helicopter. This
time it is a BO-105CB-4 of the Koninklijke Landmacht – the Dutch Army- as it
was deployed to Bosnia for UNPROFOR. The kit is a Revell Germany BO-105 PAH
(anti tank helicopter) I 1/32 scale and was modified to represent the Dutch
version of this type. I also wanted to show my BO-105 with open hatches and for
this reason I cut them out and replaced them with self-made parts.

I
also had to make the whole interior of the engine bay, rotor mechanic and the
cargo compartment by scratchbuilding, using plastic sheet, brass wire, and
plastic stripes and rods in different sizes. The
cockpit was also modified, adding some detail and scratching the rear
seat. I also had to modify the clear parts to add the sliding windows and
a new wiper arrangement as the Dutch BO-105 differ from the German
version. Detailing the outer part of the hull was no problem and with
detailing the rotor blades and rotor head the building was complete.
Painting
was done with my airbrush and Gunze colors, using pastel chalks and artist oil
paint for the weathering. All
in all it took some time to do all the extra work, but I think it makes a nice
replica of this small helicopter.
Hope,
you like it
