Here is my latest...a 1/48 Monogram Dakota done up in the Canadian Armed Forces scheme for the wonderful legend, DC-3 Gooney bird. From what I could find, Canada received the DC-3 during World War 2 and continued flying with 402 squadron right up till March 31, 1989 at CFB Winnipeg. I'm not sure about this specific plane as it has CFB Cold Lake markings. The one I chose was Dollys Folly, along with Pinocchio and 1 other plane these were modified with CF-104 Starfighter radomes and radar sets to train navigation to fighter pilots in a slower and therefore safer mount. Near the end , the radome was removed from this plane and it was once again used as a regular transport.
The model itself, not a bad build. A lot of putty, but it was unboxed in a basement for a long time before I bought it. And was a little warped. The decals are from the model experts at leading edge. Great stuff and really good instructions. Shawn
