So
this is a Sci-Fi Tomcat, for those who know the Japanese anime “Macross”,
this one comes from « Macross Zero », the prequel (it's the trend by
the time). It was realised for the 20 years anniversary of the saga.
The
kit is the old Hasegawa “lo-vis” with raised panel lines. It's mostly built
OOB, I just used some PE (from Eduard 72236) and scratchbuild for the cockpit. I
replaced Sidewinders by others showing a most recent version of it. I added a
pilot figure from the Hasegawa “ Macross Valkyrie weapon set » to obtain
a still gray but original Tomcat.
It's
classically painted with Gunze H307 & 308 with some humbrol 125 for dark gray
parts. It's weathered with a dark gray juice and finished in satin. It's
displayed on the Hasegawa Macross stand which seems more convenient for a F-14
than for a Valkyrie (see my other article).

I
believe that Hasegawa limited this kit very much. You won't find it anywhere.
They also did the counterpart : the MiG-29.
That
was a quick build, but the result is nice for an old kit like this one. Maybe
I'll do a VF-84 Tomcat one day to be forgiven...
