This relatively new Hasegawa kit could be considered as one of the good toolings. When I decided to build this kit there were no detail sets around and I built it almost out of the box except for the brake lines and some minor detailing for the cockpit.

Only leftover photoetched mirrors and a grab handle from copper wire have been added to the cockpit. I also replaced the HUD with an acetate sheet to make it look thinner. Instrument dials are punched out from the kit's decal sheet. I also added the oxygen hose using copper wire.  Windscreen is glued to the model before painting and the joint has been smoothed out with MrSurfacer 500.

Intakes and landing gear wells are painted with Tamiya X-2 and masked with UHU-TAC.

I did not like the special paint scheme provided in the Hasegawa decals, and decided to replicate the drawing on the WAPJ F-1 issue. The samurai figure and Japanese letters are printed with ALPS. I could not find any photos of the real plane, therefore this model could be considered some kind of what-if. I also printed new roundels because kits roundels were terribly translucent, and did not cover the camouflage colors.

The model is painted using Gunze MRColors (I use only this kind of paint for camouflage work since Drewe Manton recommended me), and a Badger 200 with fine tip. Kaan
