Academy produced some models of the DC3 in civilian versions and this one of the C-47.  Only the decals change and the kits are not perfect.  However I like the little scales and the beautiful planes.  I couldn't resist to build this one.

The kit is coming straight from the box.  I have just corrected the rear door which was only represented on the decal sheet for a military plane.  It is painted with Life color acrylics, weathered with Humbrol and pastel chalks.

The 6th and 7th pics show the plane 60 years ago and in meeting today, after restoration ;=)
