This is B-17G-35-VE "Little Miss Mischief" #4297880. She served with the 324th Bomb Squadron, 91st Bomb Group. This Vega-built Flying Fortress was nearly cut in half near the ball turret over Cologne 15 October 44. The 441st Sub Depot put her back together using pieces/parts from 13 different aircraft including the painted rear fuselage. She flew 15 more combat missions after the repair. Her crew called her "Half and Half".

By mistake, I installed a Cheyenne tail gun conversion kit. Builders beware of publications that you assume are correct.

A friend sent me this color image after I had finished the project. You can clearly see the tail gun position on the rebuilt "Little Miss Mischief" was the original configuration.

Cheers,

Wiggy
