This is my third attempt at building a model of the Bearcat. This is after being completely dissatisfied with the look of both the Hawk/Testor and Academy/Hobbycraft kits when done OOB.  Built with all manner of detail sets, including all the Cutting Edge products, Teknics brass undercarriage, Squadron canopy & wheels, Aires engine and Superscale decals. New main undercarriage doors made from plasticard. Painted with Xtracolor enamels.

I will attempt the F8F-1 next with yet more aftermarket stuff, including CE's wing fold and LSM's wheel well set.

Of course, I wouldn't have gone through all this trouble (and expense) if I didn't think that this was one of THE best prop-driven aircraft to come out of America.
