Here is a brief article about the Trumpeter F-105D Thunderchief my wife got me for Christmas.  I know a lot has been written about this kit in the past.
As far as aftermarket items I used they included:

  • Aeroclub metal nose gear

  • Scale Aircraft Conversions main gear

  • Cutting Edge Fin and Rudder

  • Cutting Edge Fuselage Correction Set Nr. 1

  • Legend ejection seat

  • TwoBobs Wrap-Around Thuds decal sheet

Construction followed the instructions for the most part.  The metal gear made a big difference once the kit was done.

The ammo drum is also full of lead shot.  Photo 6 shows the lead shot that I epoxied into the nose.

The right side of the fuselage also had shot epoxied into it.  I estimate that I put in about 90gr instead of the 110g that the instructions stated.
As far as the Cutting Edge resin parts, I the instructions were great, and only minor filling was needed around the ventral fin. The only other note is that the MER and Mk. 82s in the F-105 kit are misshapen, so I borrowed a MER and Mk. 82s from the Trumpeter A-7E kit.
