This is an allegory of
the death of Antoine de Saint-Exupery, airman, writer and soldier who was killed
in action over the south east of France on
July 31st, 1944. His plane, a recognition (reconnaissance) P-38 Lightning,
is passing through Le Petit Prince, his most famous novel.
The model is from
Heller (yellow box) easy to built. Some decals come from the Academy's P-38J
"Pacific Theater".
Many thanks to my
brother Michel who did the wood-carving of the book.
Alain
