Hi everyone! This is my first ARC
submission and I'm starting of with my 1/48 Hasegawa F-15CJ Aggressor. This
model is basically built OOB. The model used is an F-15C, although the bird
I'm
building in particular, judging from photographs (very limited) is a
two-seater F-15DJ.
The conversion done from an F-15C
to an F-15CJ was basic and straightforward. The F-15CJ doesn't have the
ALQ-135 antennas at the tip of the tail present on other F-15s. Also, this
bird doesn't carry the AN/ALQ-128 TEWS antennas located at the tip of the vert
stabs. Both vert stabs are of the same size and are only there for weight
balance.
The model was painted with black camouflage over the 2-tone standard F-15 gray scheme. Paints used were Gunze and Tamiya acrylics. The decals were from Two Bobs depicting the Hiko Kyodo-tai F-15CJ/DJ Aggressors stationed at Nyutabaru AB on the southern part of the island of Kyushu in northern Japan.
After painting, the model was given a coat of future in preparation for the decals. Weathering was kept to a minimum using Academy Payne's Gray oil acrylic diluted in lighter fluid. Afterburner cans borrowed from my Revell F-15E. Hope you like it! For any comments or suggestions please drop me a line at salazareric@yahoo.com Eric
