The Israeli Air Force operated Bell 212 (similar to UH-1N’s) in the ground support role from the mid-1970’s to the present—although they are being withdrawn in favor of the UH-60 (S-70) Blackhawks. The model is a conversion of Panda’s 1/35 UH-1N. Conversion includes modifications peculiar to Israeli’s Bell 212 such as: a.
Zigzag Antennas.
The model depicts an Israeli Bell 212 as she appeared in 1999 during “Operation Grapes of Wrath” in Southern Lebanon. She carries the markings of a helo belonging to the “Southern Bell” Squadron. The model was mounted with a M151 “Sayeret” TOW jeep. Recently the model was given as a gift to an Israeli diplomat who flew this type. The model is now on display at his office here in Manila.
