I had this little
old kit in my stash, and was wondering how to obtain an acceptable result with a
bit of reworking and scratch building.

I started with the
cockpit, that is devoid of any detail. The side walls were thinned, and all the
details added were built from scratch.
After completing the
cockpit, I had the unsafe idea to expose the engine. The only problem was that
no engine was included in the kit; then, a brand new engine was fashioned from
plastic card, copper sheet, brass wire and sprue (later I discovered that Roden
kits of the DVII come with detailed engine...).

Other enhancements include
thinned trailing edges, scratch built guns and rear gear. Model was painted with
Lifecolor acrilics through a Badger 200 and weathered with pastels. The
propeller was first painted light brown and then completed with wood grain using
a dark brown pencil. Decals were from the box, and depict a plane flown by
Hermann Goering.
