Some
time you see a decal and you must use it – you just have to! This
project started with Experts Choice decal no 4835 and one Italeri F-16 That
was lying around for few years on the shelf. I started by detailing the cockpit adding true details aces II seat, converted the main panel for C model, added oxygen and G hoses, new HUD and detail to the aft of the cockpit.
I
detailed the landing gear bays using the excellent DACO book as reference Reposition the aft wings and added anti static rods made out of thin electrical wires.
The external
fuel tanks have a wrong shape, they were reshaped and new fins were added. All
the missile launchers were form a hasegawa kit. The
GBU-12s - one on each wing along with AMRAAMs and AIM-9s are hasegawa. The
AN/ALQ 184 long ECM pod was converted from a monogram pod. The AN/AAQ 28 LITENING pod is isracast's newest edition.
Tinting
the canopy was made with future and food colors. I
used the Experts Choice decals but the tail art colors looked too bright so I
used the wolf from fox one decal no 017. Weathering was done the traditional way – oil and pastels. Hope you like the model Thanks
