This is one of my
favourite planes and I simply had to build one. There are two basic models on
the market. Esci/Italeri, and Occidental/Heller. I went for this one because of
recessed panel lines. The model is very small with small parts number...
Generally, this model is everything that you can expect from older Heller. Nice
plastic, but very few details, and decals that are out of register... And you'll
need to do some scratchbuilding.

The cockpit is the worst
part of this model - well - there is no cockpit... just a few funny parts. I
decided not to go and search for some aftermarket sets, this kit is not worth of
it, but to try to scratchbuild everything. It took me a lot of time and its not
so perfect. I put an old Monogram pilot in, so you can't see a lot.
On the other hand,
the wheelbay looks really great with some details...and I added some
additional wires and stuff.
If you'll try to build one of these, you better arm yourself with a brand new
tube of putty
and few shhets of sandpaper... you'll gonna' need them. I have used putty almost everywhere.
Colors are Revell and MM.
Decals are from the kit. They are thin, but too soft, and the red color was totally
out of register... Conclusion: This is my first, and the last Heller G.91.
