Hello from Colombia!  This is my report about the National Contest hosted by IPMS Guayaquil on October 21 & 22 2006.  My wife and I flew on Avianca, the Colombian airline, on October 20.  The people of Guayaquil were very friendly and the modelers of IPMS are very professional!  I won 4 mentions, not bad to be my first time in a National Contest outside my country!

The "Tigre´s Eleven" were:

• BK 117 Naval Aviation, Republic of Colombia Navy, Mention of Honor, detailed helicopters 1:72 scale.
• MH 47 Chinook Royal Air Force, Mention, helicopters 1:72 scale.
• Jeep Willys "The Green Nurse" combat ambulance, Mention of Honor, no armor military vehicles, 1:72 scale.
• Siluro Lenta Corsa, Mention of Honor, Naval Scratchbuilt, 1:72 scale.

Above model won the prizes, following models below did not win anything, but the people did see them:

• F-A18 United States Navy
• Bell UH-1H Colombian National Police
• Mi-17 Colombian National Army
• OH-58 Kiowa Taiwan Army
• PZL P.23 Karas Polish Air Force
• Westland Scout Royal Army
• Macchi 202 Folgore "Sand and Spinach" (you see here in ARC an attachment of this model!)

All models are in 1:72 scale.

Thanks and more thanks to the Air Combat Command, to the personnel and pilots of Ala de Combate 22 and the Commander of base Coronel Zanoni García Domínguez... (hey! are you my Miss cousin?), to the members of IPMS Guayaquil specially Jimmy Gálvez, his wife and daugther María Cristina and Jimmy´s son Jota; Juan, Cristian, Fabricio, Alfredo, Andrés, Galo, Camilo, José "the owl" (my wife baptize him) and other members of IPMS Guayaquil which names I don´t remember (sorry).

Alfredo Jurado sold many models during the contest, I bought 4 models that I couldn't find in Colombia... not in my dreams...thanks another time.

An additional comment, I bought the models after I prayed to God and my wife give me her permission, there are a photograph of this moment.

Finally...Guayaquil it´s a very beautiful city, visit them!
