Hi guys. Here's some photos of my F-104G that I converted to a German "Zero Length Launch" AC (ZELL). I used the CMK resin detail set for the gearbays and cockpit. The CMK kit comes with tons of resin and I highly recommend it for your Starfighters. As for the rocket, I used brass tubing with modeling clay on the ends and used the tip of a 1/72 fuel tank for the exhaust. The rocket to AC apparatus was scratch built using evergreen styrene. S tretched sprue was used for all the wiring. Click on images below to see larger images I painted the model with MM enamels, pre-shading first and then post shading with pastel dust. Most of the decals were out of box although I did have to cut them up in order to make the proper designations.
If I have the time I will be making a resin cast of the ZELL unit for production with the help of Billy Cristler (aerospace mag) in the near future, for distribution. I hope you enjoy these pics as much as I enjoyed the build. Trevor Click on images below to see larger images
