This
is the first non German WWII kit that I have decided to built. After attending
the once-a-year Peruvian Air Force Show, couple of years ago I went to the local
hobbyshop and bought the only kit of this bird available on my scale, the Academy
kit, for a very reasonable price.
After
opening the box I was really disappointed to find that the fitting of the
fuselage is a nightmare, the seats quality is ridiculous, and some other details
were so worse that I a not even going to mention. Anyway, besides all that, with
the pictures I have I started to make some changes.
The
seats supplied are really awful, they look like a waiting room coach. I
replaced them with a couple of resin seats made by a friend for his Su-25
Peruvian Air Force (Dony Alva, take a look at the gallery), with minor
adjustments they fit perfectly. Surprisingly, the instrument panel level
of detail was almost good so I decide to leave it like that. |

Other
modifications included adding anti-static devices made with a very thin
nylon fishing thread, dropping the flaps, adding a new antenna to the
right tail and also once again thanks to my friend Dony, a couple of
underwing fuel tanks were added.
