I really  enjoyed working in this kit, it went together very well.  The cockpit is from Cobra Co which is very nice, but the fit is a bit of a problem.  I also used their exterior set which gives you the IR deflecters.  Most of the Hinds that were in Afghanistan during mid '80s when the USSR was trying to keep their Soviet goverment in that country.  Alot of hinds were being lost do to the Mujahideen getting a hold of US made stinger missiles that the CIA was giving them .

The decals are from Linden Hill.  On the russian star there is no white background.  Not sure why that is, Linden Hill will tell you that during late in the Afghan war they did not have them....guess they didn't want to make a bigger targat than it already was.
